Dynamic Sound Systems has completed the integration of a Control 4 automation system that monitors the ambient temperature in the server room at Tempe-based Marcus Networking. Owner Eric Marcus says, "With over $50,000 in computer equipment potentially at risk, it is vital that my team knows if there are temperature issues." Recent record temperatures in the area have highlighted remote control helicopter the danger to the system if cooling equipment was to malfunction.
The new system not only keeps track of the temperature, but if it exceeds Marcus' accepted level, the Control 4 system will automatically send an email to the company's scheduling software, AutoTask. The AutoTask program receives the email and notifies a technician to check the server room.
